Are the subscriptions all to one dashboard, or a mix of anything goes? Also, are the dashboards built with any row level security? The reason I ask is because if you have not already deployed any cache processes to your Tableau Server, this may help dependent on your use case pattern. The cache will in effect save the query result so that SQL Server isn't hit so hard. But if the query request is unique every time (i.e. different dashboards, username specifc), then cache may not help in this situation.
Hi Jeff...hope you are doing well.
Those are great questions...unfortunately I don't have an answer. To continue can we assume the following?
- Row level security
- Multiple dashboards
I was hoping to see a "query limit" setting for subscriptions...but I have came up empty.
Would the best case be to offer different subscription times: 5:00, 5:10, 5:20...etc?
I'm doing well. I hope you are too. Different subscription times are definitely an option. Or I'm not sure if serial execution mode helps with subscriptions or not. I know they help with refresh extracts on a schedule so they execute 1 at a time.
