Embedding views in custom Portal using Redshift

    David Freifeld

I had a question on the embedded dashboards, Our Redshift cluster is in a VPC and to access the redshift cluster we need an instance in the VPC with a public IP( i created an linux ec2 instance in the same VPC) and do a local port forwarding to access the redshift cluster.

      • I set up a Tableau server on a AWS windows server in the same VPC and enabled local port forwarding by connecting to the above linux ec2 instance (This is to get access to the redshift)
      • Created dashboards using Tableau desktop in my local machine (mac)
      • was able to publish the dashboards to server and access them

My questions is how do I share/embed the dashboard link in our portal(so that a client can access) , because the link has a url which has localhost in it as shown below.

      http://localhost/views/povdashboard1/POV........etc

      and the embed code is

      <script type='text/javascript' src='http://localhost/javascripts/......></script><div class='tableauPlaceholder' style='width: 1253px; height: 599px;'><object class='tableauViz' width='1253' height='599' style='display:none;'><param name='host_url' value='http%3A%2F%2Flocalhost%2F' /> <param name='site_root' value='' /><param name='name' value='povdashboard1&#47;POV_Dashboard' /><param name='tabs' value='no' /><param name='toolbar' value='yes' /><param name='showShareOptions' value='true' /></object></div>

Do I need to reconfigure the way i set up the redshift cluster?
