There are 2 things that I have seen that could cause this. First your bars are simply too small to fit text on the end of each, if you resize them slightly larger, the label should appear on each one.
Second, What is the resolution of your display and do you have screen scaling on (Win 10)?
I have not seen this issue with default settings on a 1080p monitor with scaling set to 100% but I have seen it on my surface book set to 3000x2000 with scaling set at 175%. Windows seems to be able to scale some things in tableau but not all, (this also cause issues with creating dashboard layouts) I ended up setting my surface book to 1920x1200 with no scaling, and have not seen this issue unless I manually size bar charts.
hope this helps.
Thanks for the response, Jay.
I'm running Tableau 10.0.5 on an HP Elitebook with Windows 7, resolution: 1980x1080 - pretty standard. There was no manual sizing done on that example at all - 'out of the box' bar chart, so to speak.
I don't think there are any weird scaling settings on...? But I could just be ignorant of them.
I am running tableau 10.1.1, and widows 10 on both machines.
Optimize Display Scaling and Fix Scaling Issues on Windows 7
this link has some info about display scaling on windows 7, some laptops actually have scaling on by default to make items appear the "correct" size (the surface book, defaults to 200%). I am not sure if the Elitebook does by default, but it would be worth a check.
