I've never seen that error. I don't use Google Analytics a lot, but I have several sites linked to my google profile so I can test.
What version of Desktop are you using ?
Thank you for your help. I’m using Tableau Desktop 10.1.
It should work fine, I'd raise a ticket with Support
I submitted a ticket with support last week, but did not yet get a reaction.
Replaced the datasource, and immediately afterwards with the replaced data-source the same error appeared.
Very frustrating error, since replacing the data-source cost quite some time.
Did you get a reaction or a fix yet?
I'm having the same issue, but it only happens with a specific Google Analytics login.
When I connect to another Google Analytics login I have no issues.
This might imply that the issue is in Google Analytics and not in Tableau, but I have no issues connecting to this login any other way (direct or using an API).
Hope this helps solving this issue.
I liaised with the Tableau Support team and got this response:
The error "Missing required context variable: property-id" will appear if any of the GA accounts is missing info in PROPERTY. This is an error from Google Analytics as the property-id is a part of the google account.
Should you wish the error message not to appear, check for accounts with missing property info and add a PROPERTY into the accounts. Or, delete the account which lacks info in PROPERTY or VIEW.
Does this resolution work for you?
Similar issue with version 2018.1.0 (20181.18.0416.1335) 64-bit (MAC)
When connecting to two @Google_Analytics Views, things work fine for a short while, then it disconnects one GA view with an "login/password" error.
Rebooting the Mac fixes thing for a while.
