According to Tableau Tip: Passing filters in a URL (to create a dynamic report in PowerPoint) , URL filter should work for png too.
Here are my test results.
Tableau Server: OK
Tableau Online: OK
Tableau Public: OK with trick
For Tableau Public,
Hi Lei chen,
Yes I had seen this blog. However, what I am looking for is downloading a
csv file. In order to do that, I have added an excel icon on the dashboard.
This excel icon has a url link to another dashboard (text table). As user
interacts with the current dashboard, the text table also should update, so
when the user finally clicks on the icon to download the csv, it should
download the filtered file and not original static file containing all

Sorry for my misunderstanding.
Since URL parameter also works for csv files,
I'm thinking about using a combination of parameter, URL Actions and URL parameter.
Main points are,
1. Use parameter(s) in source dashboard for interact.
2. Add Excel icon via shape in a worksheet instead of an image object.
2. Create an dashboard URL action and make the URL (link to target dashboard) using the parameter(s).
I attached a very simple demo for your reference.

Hi Lei Chen,
Sorry for responding late. But do you have an earlier version of the workbook available? I have 10.0 version, but this twbx doesn't seem to open in 10.0 version. It would be great to get this workbook!! Thanks.
