Consider the first level ID as the CEO, so the Level 2 managers report to him and they are direct reports, and the level 3 , level 4 ,level 5 managers who report to level 2 managers plus the level 5 manager who has direct reports which is the employee ID column are the list of indirect reports...So Basically here is funda..
Level 1 : CEO
Level 2: Senior Vice presidents
Level 3: Vice presidents
Level 4: Directors, Senior directors
Level 5: Senior manager ,Manager
Employee ID is the ID'S OF normal employees
It is the idea of direct reports and the indirect reports ( who roll up to a senior level because their direct reports have employees reporting to them)..Its a chain of command...
Please let me know if this helps...
For example the senior vice president in level 2 will have the vice presidents that report to him as direct reports , the directors/senior directors who report to the vice president and the manager /senior manager who report to the director/senior director , the employees who report to the manager /senior manager as indirect reports ...
It is a hierarchial structure ...
