# percentage of total by data source shown on the same bar chart

I made an example workbook to the point where I get stuck.

I have two data sources that show the results of a survey of the likelihood to recommend a teacher. In the side-by-side bar chart one bar is the data from months 1-4 and the second bar is the data from month 5.

I would like to have the months 1-4 data be only a percentage of total for that teacher from that individual data source. Then the 5 month data to be the same thing where it is a percentage of total for that teacher from that data source.

I keep running into the issue where it is taking the percentage total of all records between both data sources.

Thanks for any help!

Are you trying to get an output like below?

Ivan, thanks for taking a look! Unfortunately I don't think that's it yet. So if we look at James and the "Strongly Agree" field, that was 23 out of 400 records in the 1-4 Month Data source so it should be more like 5.75% for the top bar on James in Strongly Agree. The bottom bar should show that James with Strongly Agree is 2 records out of 100 so 2%.

Does that help?

Hi Logan,

Yes, actually helps a ton.  It's just a matter of getting the compute settings right.  I believe below is what you expect.  What you want to do is a quick table calc percent of total and set to compute at Teacher and Recommend.  Attached is a 101.1 twbx.  Let me know if you have any questions.

Regards,

Ivan

Ivan - Sorry for the delay, but thank you for doing this! It was correct and either way I learned how to manipulate those table calculations some more!

Thanks,

Logan
