Calculation can not see Employee ID attribute (SSAS)

I am connecting to a Sql Server Analysis Services database (SSAS).  I am trying to use a field (Employee ID) and use it in a calculation.  (user selects a parameter that contains all relevant IDs and then filters the view to that employee's info).

The data is organized in the following hierarchy:  [Employee Current].[Employee ID].[Employee ID]  (when I click on describe, this is the remote name).  However, when I go to create a calculation, the Employee ID field is completely missing.  In a normal datasource (SQL, Excel, etc.) I just right click on the attribute and click on 'create calculation' and I can use it to create a calculation, but that option is completely missing. Is there some way I can use this Employee ID in my workbook?
