this is really odd. Are you able to attach your workbook onto this post? The only thing I can think of is that you have some floating objects that are overlapping.
What version of Tableau?
Version 10.1 - floating objects, but none overlapping. Saved workbook which
looked fine from version 9.3 to version 10.1, and then the problem
appeared. Not able to send workbook due to confidential data.

Is device layout perhaps playing with the positioning of your floating objects? Try temporarily removing your floating objects to see if the problem persists or not.
Actually the problem occurs in the views, not just the dashboards where I have floating objects. So I think something else is going on.
can you recreate with some dummy data or use the sample superstore data?
I created a one-view workbook with dummy data and had the same problem -
but after I closed the workbook and re-opened it, the display issue went
away. So I tried the same thing with my client workbook that has lots of
views and dashboards (I closed it and re-opened it) - and the display issue

Try this. Go to help menu then settings and performance then check on/off enable accelerated graphics. see if this helps.
