# Confidence Interval Distribution calculation

Create a bar chart with Product Type, Product, and Profit. Identify which of the following products fall below the overall 99.9% Confidence Interval Distribution (Table across)?

Decaf Espresso

Green Tea

Caffe Latte

Regular Espresso

Data source: Sample- Coffee Chain

I created a bar chart and tried plotting a reference distribution-> computation value = 99 percentile but am not getting green tea as final answer? Could you help me understand if i should be using reference distribution and any other method to answer this question? Thanks!

Hi Naresh,

Can you tell me why Tea should be the answer. I am trying to understand the logic which can help me to build the same in tableau.

The question is quirkily worded. Confidence Interval of 99% around an average is what you need. How to get your answer is: Create an Average Reference Line -> From the dropdown showing Line Only, select 'Confidence Interval Only' -> Choose 99.9 from the interval size -> Click OK. Voila!

You'll probably see the answer from this view.
