# Mapping, multiple point distance

Hello all,

I just upgraded to tableau 10.1 and i am having an issue with this calculation. I want to find the distance from every topman shop to every competitor on the map and use the distance as a filter. My aim is if i select 1 mile i want to display all the competitors that fall within 1 miles from every topman shop on the map.

@Tom W  thank you tom, i have already done the distance calculation i have attached the tableau file, kindly go through it. The problem i am facing is tableau always seems to ask me for a unique centre point, but what i am trying to achieve is

- i want all my TOPMAN shop to be a centre point

-i want to calculate the distance from every TOPMAN shop to every competitor on the map

-use the distance as a filter

-then be able to draw a circle with each topman shop as centre and distance as radius

Hi Richard,

After a quick glance it doesn't look like you've correctly followed the steps in the 'Calculating Distance' article. This is also why you are faced with the problem of finding a unique center point. Follow that article and it will walk you through calculating the distance between each and every point.
