Did you set a username/password using tabadmin commands and if so is username/password enabled on Rserve side for plaintext authentication?
When you say the issue is happening after an upgrade, do you mean that this worked on your Tableau server before and it got broken on upgrade?
No we didnt set the username and password by using tabadmin command.
As per the below Suggestion we fallowed.
- Stop Tableau Server.
- Open the Command Prompt as an administrator and change to the Tableau Server bin directory. For example:
cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\Tableau\Tableau Server\9.1\bin"
cd "C:\Program Files\Tableau\Tableau Server\9.1\bin"
- Enter the following commands to set the host address and port values:
tabadmin set vizqlserver.rserve.host <ip address of Rserve>
tabadmin set vizqlserver.rserve.port <port of Rserve>
- Enter the following command to register the changes:
- Start Tableau Server.
Yes previously it was working properly after the migration it has broken.
Can you please suggest what exactly the problem between Rserve and Tableau Server?
Sorry, no idea However, this is more of a Server Admin issue so I moved it to the Server & Online Admin forum where it has a better possibility of getting help.
I just set up a system with brand-new installations of 9.0 Desktop and Server, R 3.3.2, and RServe 1.7.3. After configuring R, RServe, and Tableau Server and verifying that I could successfully use the R functionality from Desktop upon publishing, I upgraded to 10.0 Server and was unable to reproduce your issue in my environment - both 9.3 and 10.0 Desktop were able to interact with the 10.0 Server without issue.
My environment had RServe running on the default port, without authentication, and on the same machine as the Tableau Server instance. I'm curious to know more about the details of your configuration -- and hopefully can figure out a resolution once I can reproduce your problem.
Thanks in advance for any additional information you can share,
