I would investigate to see if the user has permissions to the datasource. It sounds like they can access the Tableau Server, but for some reason not the data. I don't think that the share feature is the issue, I think there is a permissions problem. Is there any user-level filtering or URL parameters that may be filtering all the data for the user? Can they do a Web Edit of the workbook? Do all users have this issue or just one? Are all workbooks affected or just one?
The recipient definitely has permissions. The URL does not contain the parameters selected. Somehow I would think they need to be embedded to get the desired result.
Can you provide a screenshot (full window showing the URL) of what they are seeing? Does this happen with multiple users and multiple workbooks?
This is the link that shows up in the email. https://tableau.USA.gov/t/_Program_VUE/views/Grades_0/TrngGrades?:iid=8&:embed=yes&:display_count=no&:showVizHome=no
This is the first time that I’ve tried using the “Share” feature and only with two users. If they access the site itself, the users cannot edit anything, only view the different worksheets in the dashboard. This is the only workbook I have for the users.
Could you provide a screenshot of what the user is experiencing?
