Are the fields referenced by a relative time to the computer running Tableau? I'm thinking the functions similar to NOW() and TODAY() may be impacted by a system time mismatch between the computer running Tableau Desktop and the computer running Tableau Server. The Tableau Server pulls the system time to figure out the time zone and other time-related settings. Is the Tableau Server in the same time zone? Does it have the same time of day? Is it in Daylight Saving Time?
Thanks and hope this helps!
Thanks Nathan for reply.
No, I have not used today() or now() functions. But the time field is
casted to time data type in the custom query.

What does the custom query look like? At some point it seems that a relative time is being used and I agree with Nathan that the server's time zone or the database driver's timezone configuration may be different.

Sorry to have missed answering your questions in last line. Here it is:
Is the Tableau Server in the same time zone? No. Server is in PST and Data source times are in EST
Does it have the same time of day? Did not get this question. can you please elaborate.
Is it in Daylight Saving Time? Yes it is. Both server and data source
