Automatic complementary colour label shades - how to enable?

So there is this relatively new feature in Tableau that will change the colour of the labels to match the mark's colour, but also choose a slightly different tint in order to make it visible against the mark's colour. See: Feature Geek: Coloring Labels with Mark Colors in Tableau 9.2 | Drawing with Numbers  for an example.

My question is, how to I turn this algorithm to shade the label tint slightly different than the mark label on or off? I'd like to put the mark label coloured inside a pie chart. But because pie charts default with the label on the outside of the pie, it only creates the label as the exact same colour as the mark. Any ideas?
