when you run the install, you choose the install location and by default, the storage is in sub-folders of the install location. I believe that there is way to change the location of the data extracts if this is what you're looking to do, but this is kind of an unsupported hack.
Thank you Jeff. I will try it out today, and will keep you posted
I was able to install it but now I cant access any of the published workbooks I get the following error
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Login failed for user 'FPU\TABLEAU'.
Aha. how are you authenticating? Are you trying to use the windows authentication or use embedded id and password? if you are using the windows auth, I think it is trying to pickup the runas user which needs db select access on SQL Server. Generally, we use the second option (embedded id and password) and leverage a db app account.
Yes I am trying to use windows authentication.
how would I be able to accomplish the following?it is trying to pickup the runas user which needs db select access on SQL Server

within SQL Server, you need to grant readonly / select access to the runas user (FPU\Tableau).
Or change to the second option, which generally is what we do.
Thank you Jeff I will let the IT team know hopefully It will result in a fix
Will keep you updated
We're running the same issue when running tableu server as a domain account and trying to use integrated security in our reports, when we want to use a SQL Server data source. We get the "Expired password" error although we've checked the account and it's well configured and password is not expired. Were you able to solve the "expired password" issue?
Thanks in advance,
as of now I am still having problems with the "expired password"
I think the Suggestion Jeff Strauss made "within SQL Server, you need to grant readonly / select access to the runas user".
May lead to a solution yet our IT Team has been backed up and have not been able to try out the suggestion.
Sorry I Couldn't be much help.
