Thanks for your suggestion but that's not the function i'm looking for.
I want the destination cities dots to highlight when I click on the origin city - kinda like a 2 layers maps with the first layer "disappearing" when I choose the origin city and the second layer coming on top with the origin city and destinations cities highlighted.
Find my approach as reference below and stored in attached workbook in version 9.3
Structure the data in this way
Departure Destination New York Houston New York Detroit New York Washington Los Angeles Las Vegas Los Angeles Boston Los Angeles
Plot them on a layered geomap with Departure on a Markscard and Destination on a Markscard
Colour all Departure cities blues and Destination Red
Bring group "Origin" in as filter
What I don't like is that all departure city's will remain visible in the view when one is selected
Thanks for this idea, but I have to many cities in my real list to have a filter selection.
With Tableau 10, I managed to find a solution thanks to the "join extracts" functionnality and then apply filter actions within the dashboard.
Great you figured it out. Could you elaborate on your defined solution?
I joined the origin extract and destination extracts on a common ID.
Then I set up an Action filter ecluding all value with a filter on originID=destID.
I wish I could share my solution but I can't export the database, sorry ...
Thanks again for your help !
