# Create a "Percent Of" calculation instead of "Percent Difference"

I have a data table where all of the columns are a subset of a single total, which is the first column.  When I use the "Percent Difference" Table calculation it shows all the subsequent columns in a negative percentage, all below 0 obviously.  I was the chart to show what the percentage of each column is compared to the first column.

Example -

First Column Count = 100

Second Column Count = 50

Third Column Count = 25

Fourth Column Count = 10

Percent Difference Calculation Shows -

-50%

-75%

-90%

DESIRE - Show this as

50%

25%

20%

Essentially I want to show the inverse of the Percent Difference Calculation.  Any ideas?

Hi Derek,

Why don't you try 1+Percent Difference.  That should give you what you are looking for.

Current one is described as

[% Difference]

(ZN(SUM([Value])) - LOOKUP(ZN(SUM([Value])), FIRST())) / ABS(LOOKUP(ZN(SUM([Value])), FIRST()))

inversed one should be

[% Difference inverse]

if index()<>1 then 1-((LOOKUP(ZN(SUM([Value])), FIRST()))-ZN(SUM([Value]))) / ABS(LOOKUP(ZN(SUM([Value])), FIRST())) end

You can create table calc thru given function

then drag to the measure field (with ctrl)

and you can get new formula as "calculation ***"

Then modify it as you like.

Thanks,

Shin
