Hard to say without seeing a more detailed error message.
Did you submit a support case already? I'd need to see a log file in order to tell what's going on.
Thank You for the reply.I am able to extract from one table which has few thousand rows but when I pull in other which has a few lakh rows it gets disconnected.
Is there a size limit or row limit that a tableau extract can handle.
Did you try this already?
What Tableau version are you using?
Is there a more detailed error message? Could you provide a screenshot or a log file?

John, I deal with Salesforce and Tableau on a regular basis, message me if you need more help. At the moment there is no API limitation on how much Salesforce data you can download to Tableau extract. It all varies on your internet connection and your network. I have created full data extracts that have lasted well over 72hrs before (not recommended). Best way I have found to create extracts efficiently is to make sure your table joins are buttoned up properly.
Thank You for the reply.I currently use Tab V10.
Error: Internet communication error: Failure when receiving data from the peer
But we are able to extract using other ways.
Thank You for the reply.
Below are few points I would like to get confirmed
- if there is more than 10000 record
- Limitation if text fields that are greater than 4096 characters (or) if they are open text field
Workaroud = Tableau +ODBC Connector + Salesforce for large data sets.
