# Use tableau to find cross selling opportunity

Lets say I wanted to set up a dashboard that allows the end user to select all custojers that have the "Technology Product".

Once that list is returned, you click the 2nd filter to return all the remaining customers who do not have a "Furniture Product"

I have attached a workbook with sample data, seems like a really cool idea.  Any takers on how this can be done?   Bonus points if you have a cool viz idea

Hi Charles,

There could be multiple ways. I got the below idea to use Fixed LOD calculations and I have created the attached workbook.

Please see to it. Hope it helps.

@All, if you know better solution, Please do help Charles. Below is just my idea which came in.

List 1 & List 2 Calculated fields acts as Indicator for your requirement.

List 1 :

Max(

{ FIXED [Customer Name], [Category] :

if Min([Category]) = [List 1 Parameter] AND sum([Sales]) >= 0 then

"IN"

END } )

List 2 :

Max(

{ FIXED [Customer Name], [Category] :

if Min([Category]) =[List 2 Parameter] AND sum([Sales])>=0 then

"IN"

END } )

List 1 & List 2 Sales shows Sales of the selected Category

List 1 Sales:

Max(

{ FIXED [Customer Name], [Category] :

if Min([Category]) = [List 1 Parameter] AND sum([Sales]) >= 0 then

sum([Sales])

END } )

List 2 Sales:

Max(

{ FIXED [Customer Name], [Category] :

if Min([Category]) =[List 2 Parameter] then

Sum(Sales)

END })

Below Calculated fields acts as your filter and I have set them to show Non Null values for List 1 & Null values for List 2.

List 1 Filter:

window_sum([List 1 (Sales)])

List 2 Filter:

window_sum([List 2 (Sales)])

Want to make a new best friend

how would you do the following from your work book... I cant figure it out.

**1** i would like a distinct count of the resulting cusotmers.  The issue is that the filters use the customer name to filter.  So it shows up as a string of '1's' rather than a sum

**2** I would like to figure out how to do the top purchased products from that resulting customer list. like what other products do they commonly buy

I will try that and get back to you

Awesome! I tried everything.  I even tried just having each customer show up as a shape and having a grand total for that column and make it infographic style.... BUT, the issue is the column/row grand total sums every customer in the dataset, not the customers present in the column
