Why does Tableau append digits when converting a decimal to a string

    James Gerberich

When converting a simple one-place decimal value to a string value, Tableau just decides to to change the numeric value to a 17 digit decimal, even if the original value only has one decimal place.
Why does this happen?  How can I fix it?

Before pasting links to the 'solved' articles for this issue, please know that I have tried using the ROUND, AVG/MAX technique and the result is a broken calculation with the error: The calculation can't be applied to a user-defined aggregate
