# Logarithmic scale: graph bar does not line up to its matching value on axis

Hello -

I have an issue with logarithmic scale I need to fix. For some reason, the graph bars do not line up to the Y axis values. I am using logarithmic scale due to the big difference in measure values.

For example, 15.30% aligns to about 0.02% on the Y axis. Is it possible to fix it?

One more thing - how to show percentages in even increments of 20% (i.e. 20, 40, 60, 80,100)?

Thanks!

The light green bars seem to match with the Y-axis, but not the dark green and yellow bars. Are you sure the labels on the dark and yellow bars truly reflect the values represented by those bars?

You can set 20% intervals just in linear scale.

Here is my twbx file.

Ah, I see the issue. The bar is the correct height, but your number formats are mixed up. Here's how it looks if I remove all the number formats:

You see, the green bar was displaying the number with a % added instead of the actual %. So 79.32 was shown as 79.32%. In contrast, the yellow bar converts 0.1530 into 15.30%.

I'm not sure what convention you intended to use, but it looks like they got mixed up. You should consider storing all your numbers as true percentages, which makes things easier for everyone. However, if you decide you must store your numbers as percentage x 100, make sure that format is consistently applied.

What David Li said ...

On your worksheet, I updated the Number Format for the % Abandoned/Received and % CallsAnswered/LoanVolume measures to Number (Custom) with 4 decimal places and suffix %, and now the numbers agree with the Y axis.

Please note that what I did was purely from the perspective of displaying the numbers; I did not look at the calculation themselves.

I got it. I changed the formula for the light green bar since its formatting was not actually a true percentage: I added a multiplier 0.01. Now I can fix the number format using Percentage.

Thanks!
