# How can I tally up number of combinations of a particular result

Hi all,

This will be hard to explain, but I'll give it a crack.

I have a view of data which shows per truck visit at our site (trk key), the configuration of the containers on the back of the truck (Columns are D and R for Trans Dir, meaning receival and delivery, i.e. containers on and off the truck. And the slot is the position on the back of the truck). Size is the length of container, ie. 2 = 20ft, 4 = 40 foot

Some combinations of containers on the truck are more common than others, e.g. a container in slot 1.

I want to have a view that summarizes the number of times a particular combination occurs.

Any ideas?

I don't follow what constitutes a 'combination'. Can you provide an example?

Hi Tom,

Using the extracted example below (ignore the numbers in each colored bar, e.g. 7.50, 6.33 etc, they are just weights)

• the first row is one combination of containers on the truck, same as row 9
• the second row is another combination, the same as row 4, 5, 6 and 8
• the third row is another,
• etc, etc.

My aim is to have a tally of each container combination, so for the example below, the combination in row 1 appears twice, and the combination in row 2 appears 5 times, etc....
