Thank you anoop for the suggestion, but the issue is not fetching data from
Let me explain you the scenario. There are 3 databases in a single server,
in which i had already applied UNION ALL. The problem is that the first 2
database are not going to be changed a single bit but the third will. So if
i apply union between them the extract of the full query took a lot of time
including those 2 databases of which i know the data is not going to be
changed. So why would i refresh those two.
So what i am asking is there any way that these three can be union while
keeping the first two to be static and the third one to be refreshed
And Thanks again for the suggestion.
Thanks and Regards,

Ok. So you have 3 in same server of which 2 never changes and and one keeps getting updated. So let me ask this. Does your requirement demand all the data to be shown in a single workbook. Why I am asking is because if not you can use as two databases (two static) and other dynamic (from 2013 to now) and then create worksheets and display them under the same dashboard.
In case you need to display all three under a single worksheet and if the Union is taking a long time in tableau you can either
1) Do a one time Union All outside of Tableau in database and then do data append of the new data into the database and you can use this database for your reporting.
2) Else schedule a extract during off business hours and run the union all in tableau itself. (I am under assumption that your dashboard needs data refresh just once or twice in a 24 hour period).
Good Luck and let us know what you have decided.
