Try using calculation in server and get needed format .
I did not understand anything.
I cannot find any format option. Neither at calculated fields nor at db measures.
Try to create calculation in server and use it.There is no direct option avail in server.
If you want to show percent of total then use table calculation in server.
Create calculation also will help.
for ex: create calc as
use round to get two decimals
Hi Yeleli Burcak, this is functionality currently under development for the browser. If you have access to Tableau Desktop, a workaround is publish the field with the correct format. Are there other specific formats you would use beyond decimal points and percentages?
Hi, the ability to format a number in web edit is in Beta now and will be available in our next release, 10.3. You'll be able to do this from a pill on the shelf and selecting "Format Number...". Please let me know if you have additional feedback!
I think Tableau 10.3 version is out...are you sure it is available in this version?
Can anyone confirm this works in 10.3?
I had a similar problem:
SUM(x) / (SUM(x) + SUM(y)) to get x as a percent of total was showing only a whole number in the Viz. Round didn't work as it was already displaying as a whole number.
The 'hack'around that worked for me >> wrap the whole statement in a STR() to convert it to a string. Not perfect, but works while waiting for the new functionality to be implemented.
The final solution to display a proper formatting percent on the viz would be a calculated formula like this:
STR(ROUND((SUM(x) / (SUM(x) + SUM(y)),2)*100)+'%'
