did you find a solution to this? You might review all the cool things Anya A'hearn did here - Tableau Public with Maps and different images/views. Anya participated in a great Think Data Thursday covering a few examples of how she created these views here: Think Data Thursday: @Mapbox Powered #GeospatialLove - YouTube
Let us know if that gets you going or if you are still struggling?
Could you please clarify your question. You have a custom Mapbox map that is transparent. You want to add a custom image under your Mapbox map, in your Mapbox Style. You then want to use that Mapbox Style as a map layer in Tableau?
thank you for your reply. Anya, you're right.
Please see an example: https://public.tableau.com/shared/TQS5Z7HJB?:display_count=yes in my Public Profile.
In this example I found a solution to generate the background (the color spectrum) as polygons in Tableau.
For less data and more flexibility when working with the real data I was looking for a way without generated polygons. The reason why I'm focusing on maps is the possibility of a real zoom - which in my opinion is key for maximum usability.
Thank you in advance,
