Just wanted to update... I saved the workbook, closed out and reopened and the filter worked as I expected to. The (All) button was no longer showing on the Story page. Not sure why it didn't work at first, but saving and reopening seemed to do the trick.
This is a great catch!
I thought at first it might be due to the order in which things were done, thinking if you modify a worksheet after it is added to a story, it wouldn't be seen until it was refreshed (or closed/opened).
Then I tried adding a viz to a story, changing the viz, then re-adding that to a new page in the story. The filter changes still did not appear (at least until I closed & reopened)!
Are you working with a TWBX or regular workbook? I saw this behavior in a TWBX (have not tried in a TWB)
I am working in a TWBX.
After experimenting, I think the TWBX format is the issue.
In TWD I'm able to make filter changes in real-time and they appear in the story.
For TWBX, to see the filter option changes one needs to save and reopen the workbook for them to appear.
- Note that this appeared limited to filter formatting issues (button type, etc). I was able to exclude certain values and they were reflected on worksheets, dashboards, and stories.
I realize you already discovered this . Perhaps someone else can provide better illumination?
