# Sum Avg - Different groups of products

Hi everyone,

I am having a hard time to deal with a problem with avgs. I have a large set of products, splited in different models with different acquisition values.

For most of my analytics I have to use an avg value of acquisition so I can compare the rentability more properly. But as most fo you know I cannot sum the total of this average,

I used a FIXED function to have the values for the group of products and it worked, but the sums of the subtotals gives me also an average, I needed to sum these subtotals.

Can you post a twbx file?

You can manipule totals using IF Size() statements.

Probably If Size() = 0 then new calculation else ...

For checking this properly create a calculation Size() and drag on row shelf.

Hi Luciano,

That was a great wrap up to the visualization, but I need to work further on this calculated field.

I will, for example, apply a 8,5% rate over this value, for some products, then apply 12% rate over other products.

Instead of use the acquisition value I would always use the Avg value for different calculations. It's a preparation for the real analysis.

Any other sugestions different than that?
