Use chart as filter - show nothing when no data point is selected?

      Hi there,

I have a bubble chart which is being used as a filter for two workbooks containg string text. The filter works fine as when a bubble is selected, only the string value for that data point shows in the other two workbooks, however when no bubble is selected every string value for every bubble is displayed as one giant incoherent block of text.

Is there any way to show nothing at all in these worksheets when the bubble chart has nothing selected?

I've tried deselecting the 'Include all values when empty' box when doing a custom filter, but if you select a data point then deselect it, it reverts back to the original state of showing every possible string value.

      Thanks very much.
