# How can I calculate the intersection between two lines?

Hey guys,

I have created a workbook that shows me a chart with Expense, Revenue, and a trend line for each of them for the past couple years.

What I want to do now is calculate how long it will take the current trend lines to intersect, and if they will never intersect then I just want it to say "Never" or something, but I think I can figure that part out.

I was looking for how to do this and ended up creating my own manual trend lines (with this article's help: https://interworks.co.uk/blog/linear-regression-trend-lines/ ) but I still don't know how I can calculate on what date they will intersect.

Any help would be appreciated

Sorry about that, I didn't realize it wouldn't extract it from Google Sheets.

cool, I can open it now, but since I am leaving the office for weekend now, I will probably not provide an answer until Monday

nonetheless it should be fairly easy verification of for which month ([x]) your trend lines are equal (if any)

cheers
