# Totals Question

Hello,

I am working on a worksheet where I am using the Color option for marks.

A sample of the data shows student enrollment by grade and school. I used the color option showing the count of females as pink and males as blue. Since there are only 2 options, I would actually like to show the total and then the breakdown.

For example-- For the first row of Grade 1 at school S001 display  6 (4 2) or 4 2 (6) or some other variation. Similarly, I would like to do the same for the sub-totals and grand total.

Is something like this possible??

Thank you,

Antoinette

This should be possible. You could create a new calculated field (sum of males and females) for each school at each grade level. Then show the sum and the M/F counts at the same time.

Do you have this data in Excel or a workbook?

Hi Antoinette,

Without a workbook I can only guess at your structure but it looks like you don't have Gender on columns, only on color. You could place Gender on columns to separate out the numbers and then show the subtotals just like you have for Grade.

Take care,
