What is your original datasource.
Is this excel data that you are currently displaying in Tableau and you want to move this data to SQL Server.
If this is the case you may want to look at a tool called Alteryx,
It is a visual ETL Tool.
You can use this tool to connect to excel create a tableau datasource for your reports and push this data to sql server.
Hope this helps.
Thank you for the prompt answer.
* Regarding connection between Tableau and SQL I would like to create Linked Server (export data from Tableau to SQL !).
* Regarding Excel ---> I have some data (11 sheets) in Tableau and every Week I export that data to Excel for something another and is is very annoying as I have 5 Countries so I have to export data from 55 Sheets to Excel every Week.
You could possibly utilise TABCMD commands on server to export the data of required sheets in to excel
This process can be automated to a required schedule
So, I need to put my Tableau Workbook on Server how I would be able to automate this process?
Once you have published to server you just need to find a TABCMD export to Excel script
There should be one in this forum I will try find one for you and get back to you
Have a look at this link. It is possible to achieve but it is not advised. as it requires installing excel on the server.
Check out the thread above and the advice given.
Thank you very much!
