Yes, that gives you the cumulative count of views and the last time an individual person viewed a dashboard. It does not contain a record for each time a person viewed the dashboard. I will try to clarify a bit below.
What I would like to get (if it doesn't have the viewer assign to the workbook that would still provide some value)
Date | Workbook/View | Viewer
5/1/2016 | Mike's Dashboard | John Smith
5/2/2016 | Mike's Dashboard | John Smith
5/3/2016 | Mike's Dashboard | John Smith
Data Currently Getting (Included the referenced workbook Toby E provided)
Workbook/View | Last View Time | Total Views | Viewer
Mike's Dashboard | 5/3/2016 | 3 | John Smith
Mike's Dashboard | 5/1/2016 | 9 | Sue Miller
Short version: historical_events, then join to the other hist_* tables, and then to workbooks / datasources / views as appropriate.
I have a datasource I plan to clean up and publish somewhat soon that does a lot of this craziness so people don't have to deal with all the complexity...maybe next week, I hope?
You don't mention your server version, but be aware that the 9.1.x and 9.2.x had unreliable view usage data prior to March 2016 (9.1.8, 9.2.6).
Issue 466073 "In some cases, user view data was not properly written to the Tableau Server repository database, which resulted in incorrectly displayed user view statistics in the Tableau Server administrative views."

Yup, I can attest to this.
Hey Matt, any update on this? Thanks for all the help.
I am not too concerned with EXACT reliability. Of course that would be preferred but if it simply gives us a feel for the users using the site and where that is my goal. Thanks!
Thanks for following up Michael, I would have forgotten to update this thread otherwise! Yes! They are here! I have three datasources for analyzing Tableau Server data, and sharing it with your users that you can download for yourself here:
The one you want for View counts will be TS Events. You'll filter to Event Name = "Access View" for seeing which views were hit how many times.
Matt, this is awesome. I mean really awesome. You're the man!
Can't say thank you enough.
