Yes stored procedures are used quite often with Tableau. What is the error message you are getting and what database are you using?
Do these procs require input parameters? I have never used procs with Tableau before that use input Parameters. If so, can you try connecting to a proc that does not require an input parameter?
Is your proc doing anything more complex than a select statement? If so that could be the issue. If you google the error 'Invalid cursor state' a number of results are returned that may help you:
The stored procedure that we currently have does require an
input parameter. Because it does not know what table you want to
use. It prompts for what table.
I am having our ETL sql person recreate a table view of the data
I need, and bypass this stored procedure. When I get time, I will try to
test different options.
