I believe the start page preference for each user is saved in the postgres DB in a column called start_page in the table user_prefs
see Donna's comment Aug 11 Tableau 9.0 server - setting the default start page
As its stored like that, I believe its at the user level not user/site level, and therefore not possible.
But, I have moved this thread to the Server area, in the hope that if its possible, someone in there can advise
Thanks for your response Mark. Yeah... I don't think it's possible Will investigate other options.

As a Server Admin you can set a Start Page for All Users.
However, this start page isnt site specific, so if an account logs in to a site that doesnt have that page, they get a warning message.
So for standard high level pages like Projects, Workbooks, Views, etc or Pages that are on all sites, this is fine..
For anything more low level then, not so much..
I am not seeing any way to do this via Tabcmd, tabadmin or rest API, so it looks to be a manual process if you want the start page to be site specific. (ie you will have to change the setting for each user account on a site)
Hope this helps
Thanks for the insight Glen. As I don't have too many users and I know their login credentials I think this will work.
