# Need help with visually showing every other point over time

Hello!

I am in need of help in figuring out how to show every other data point in the chart below for only two of the measures and not all.  I would like to edit the chart so that the red lines are more smoother as opposed to looking like steps.  I was thinking that by showing every other hour for the two measures in red would smooth out the line but I am open to other suggestions.  I've attached a packaged workbook.

I put parameter to find the appropriate level of Range of Plot.

You can find proper profile with this?

[Lower_Win_Avg]

window_avg(sum([Lower]),int(-[Range of plot]),INT([Range of plot]))

[Upper _Win_Avg]

window_avg(sum([Upper]),int(-[Range of plot]),INT([Range of plot]))

Thanks,

Shin

My apologies for not understanding right away but what values are the window averages calculating and how?

Katrina,

Let's take Parameter score of "50" as an example.

It is averaging "data point - 50" to "data point + 50" of total 100 data points.

So,

Parameter 10 ==> average of -10 ~ 10 of 21 data points

Parameter 20 ==> average of -10 ~ 10 of 21 data points

You can change past side future side individually.

When you put the formula

window_avg(sum([Upper]),int(-20),INT(10))

This avearages -20 to 10 of total 31 data points.

-9 , 0  ==>  Last 10 data points including itself.

-10, -1 ==> Last 10 data points excluding itself.

Etc.

Does this help ?

Thnaks,

Shin

Shin -- That's beautiful!

Katrina -- That takes the numbers along the line and averages a range plus-and-minus the number selected in the parameter, for each point on the line.  If you choose 10, go back 10, and forward 10, and average that range.
