I am very new to Tableau, so please bear with me.
I have used the Superstore data to recreate a dashboard from my environment in which I would like to see the Top 5 states by sales for all regions, which is not an issue. However, I would like to see the top 5 states for each region selected on the dashboard. I have set that worksheet is acting as a filter for the dashboard.
What I end up with instead is: I select a single region, I only see a couple of states. I know this is because the states are filtered down to 5, and if a couple of those 5 states happen to be in that region, they display.
I am not sure how to have the top 5 for each state display for all regions, and then for each region (or several regions, if I select more than one).
I have attached my example dashboard.
Any help would be much appreciated.
After another round of searching through the forums, I did find a question which gave me my answer.
I needed to used Index() on the State worksheet.
The answer was found here:
Two filters; need "top X" filter to be dependent on the results of the first filter
