Merging fields

Hello

I merging some attributes but needs some additional calculations, If anyone can help kindly let me now. Attributes are bellow

1) Is student new? (This attributes have "yes" , "No" and "other" values

2) Student First name

3) Student last name

I want all three together but if there is "yes" value for Is Student New then convert "Yes" into NEW.

I want the results in this way

New Student First Name Last

Thanks

Create a calculated field like;

IF [Student Is New] = "Yes" then "NEW" else "" END

+

[First Name]

+ " "

+ [Last Name]

So this formula should do the trick....

IF [is student new] = 'yes' THEN 'New ' + [Student First Name] + ' ' + [Student Last Name]

ELSE  [Student First Name] + ' ' + [Student Last Name]

END

Hello Simon

I am very thankful for your reply, I used the second this formula bus it is not reflecting "New"

Thanks

Make sure your case of the criteria matches the data in your source data.

I.e. Simon's example has = 'yes'

If your data is really 'Yes', then you need to make sure the logic reflects that.

It could also be a good idea to use the upper function i.e. UPPER([is student new]) = 'YES'
