I think this one deserves a Tableau Support intervention.
Yes, raised a support ticket.
Just to give a background, I only see this after we downgraded from 9.3 to 9.1. We upgraded to 9.3 initially, as some of the stuff didn;t work, we had to downgrade to 9.1, ever since, I see this problem.
Anyway, I will let you guys know if I get a fix from Support.
Just curious, what didn't work when you upgraded (9.1 to 9.3)?
We have some reports which have custom groups created.
For example, the groups is
A ----- contains A1, A2, A3 ---- these had their own financial values
B ------ contains B1, B2, B3
C-------contains C1, C2, C3
So, what was happening in 9.3.3 was, the groups duplicated:
A---- now contained A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, B3, C1, C2, C3
B---- now contained A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, B3, C1, C2, C3
C---- now contained A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, B3, C1, C2, C3
When connected live, the groups still showed correct.
We recreated the groups, so that the duplicates were eliminated, and the numbers were looking good. But, as soon as the extract was refreshed, the groups would break again. Upon some calls with Tableau, and internal digging, the optimize part of extract refresh looked to break the groups.
I hope that made sense.
Interesting. Thanks for that We are on 9.2.4 but I plan on upgrading to 9.3.3 this weekend so I'll note this just in case.
Everything else was fine, the issue was only with the workbooks/datasources which had these custom groups. So, that is the reason, we were not able to find it earlier, I guess.
