# Percent Diff with a moving average

Hi all - I have a problem I can't solve:

I have a series of values which I have created a percentage difference (from previous value) on.  It produces a line which is a bit erratic so I want to put a 3 month moving average on it.  I can't seem to get an equation for it.  I've attached the workbook with the values expressed as percentage diff (from previous value).  Anyone know how i can put a 3 point moving average to the values so as to smooth the line?

Regards

Patrick

Hello - I guess, you want to first perform a moving avg then on top of that percent difference in the following way and the line appear in the graph is much smoother.

Thanks,

If you Synchronize the axis then this will eventually overlap and Orange Line appear much dampen and smoother.

Ah yes indeed - i didn't see that you could perform a secondary calculation.  it only appears on certain calculation types.

thank you so much !
