From what I see in the image, I think your data needs a reshape.
You would need to have two dimensions basically, one is 'Share' and the other is 'Corn/Soybean'.
Then you can build a chart easily like this:

I'm struggling with is that re-shaping the data is REALLY easy in Excel,
but seems a little more difficult in Tableau. This may not be a huge
problem, however. Just something I'll have to consider as we move forward.
Obviously, the benefit of using Tableau is that we can get real-time data
updates rather than manually adjusting everything.

I agree with the reshape being a little tricky so usually I reshape it outside of Tableau or make it really easy for me to do it in here itself.
And like you said, all sorts of calculations and groupings etc. I leave it to Tableau so that everything gets updated automatically with just appending data.
