# "No Data" values are not involved in the count while calculating average

Hello Everyone,

I have few "no data" values in my table. Hence, when I am trying to calculate the average of that measure column, I am getting it wrong as count of the records for that column records is not including the records which have "no data".

For example in the above picture if I try to calculate Average of the First column, It should be (10+67)/5 since there are 5 rows, but it calculates the average as (10+67)/2 as it ignores the rest of the 3 rows where it doesn't have data.

Please let me know how I can resolve this issue. Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Zibal

HI,

can you post the sample data.

As per my understanding it is computing the values in a right way. actually if you see the table it is computing across the table. If you want the way you want you need to compute table down.

Hi Tharashasank,

Thanks for your response. It is not calculating the averages in the right way. Below is the snapshot where Grand Total are being calculated using average. For Category 'Projects' , the average is being calculated as (27+13+17)/3===> 19 instead of (27+13+17)/5==> 11.4.

Hey Zibal,

In 9.3.3, I'm seeing "Projects" as 60% (150 total hours / 90 worked).

It looks like you are seeing 19% in this area? Are you in a different version?

Regardless, it is still wrong - I think that what you want is to change the totals to "average" instead:

With that, I get 11%:
