I am struggling with my Barbell Chart

    Kai Smith

I am struggling with my Barbell chart.

I have managed to plot three measures (Men), (Women) and the calculation between the two (Difference) - but I can't get the horizontal line (Gantt Chart) working?

      Can you help?

          Kai,

I think I fixed it. Go ahead and replace SUM(Difference) in the rows column with SUM(Women), and place AGG(Difference) in Size.men_women.png

            Thanks Michael,

After I correct it I then re-created it a few times to really understand what is happening here.

I was confused because you need to plot 3 measures on one chart.

The key is to drag your second measure (Men) to the left hand Y-axis.  This way you do not use up your 2nd (right hand) Y-axis which is required for the Gantt chart.

Secondly it was not intuitive for me to use a Gantt with one measure (Women) and then use the calculated field (Difference) on the Size mark to create a horizontal line.  Now I know and I'm happy!
