I would like to do a cross data blending say both my data sources have Fruits dimension whereby data source A has Apple, Orange and Banana whereas data source B has Kiwi and Pear.
In this case, how can I blend this 2 dimension together? Subsequently, I want to create a "Fruits" filter with all the 5 items in the filter so that when I choose a particular fruit then the data/information will only show according to the fruit that I chose. Could this be done? I know that the issue here is both dimensions do not have the common items. This is where I'm stuck.
My tableau version is 9.3
Thanks a lot!
You may want to create a distinct datasource (one may called it "Scaffold")
containing a full set of values (a complete domain) of your dimension(s),
and then use that datasource as a Primary to blend both A and B sources.
Hope you het the idea.
