    How do I label every other mark?

      I'm trying to make a small multiple plot of unemployment vs inflation, see below:

      The labels are pretty messy though, so I want to shorten them (2002 goes to 02) and display only even numbers. I came up with a solution similar to this: Conditional Data Labels | Tableau Software . Here's my calculated field:

      Basically, if the year is even, take the right two characters, else it's null. I take Short Year to Label and I get this:

      The line path isn't connecting to the even years now. I can't seem to get it to work. Any ideas what is going on? How can I successfully get it to show every other year in the label?
