1. Re: Exporting Underlying Data in ANSI format
lenaic.ridinger Jun 23, 2016 9:02 AM (in response to Luciano Vasconcelos)I'm not sure what do the data look like after you exported them.
Would you be able to share a workbook, so I can analyze the data and check if something is wrong here? Having unreadable data with an export should not occur.

lenaic.ridinger Jun 24, 2016 5:21 AM (in response to Luciano Vasconcelos)Hello Luciano Vasconcelos,
I've tried to reproduce your issue and unfortunately (or thanksfully) I haven't been able to get the issue that your are experiencing.
Could you please tell me which version of Tableau are you using? and what is your version of Microsoft Excel?
It looks like Microsoft Excel is unable to properly display UTF-8 compliant CSV files when they contain non-English characters.
Could you please try to open the export .csv I attached to this message, and tell me if the characters appear weirdly as well?

lenaic.ridinger Jun 24, 2016 6:03 AM (in response to Luciano Vasconcelos)Quoting myself from an earlier post:

Does it appear with accents or do you experience the same issue?
Have you tried to open it on Wordpad or Notepad to check if the issue still persists?
I'm trying to investigate where the issue come from, if it's during Tableau → Excel, or Microsoft Excel itself.
Thanks for your patience!

6. Re: Exporting Underlying Data in ANSI format
Luciano Vasconcelos Jun 24, 2016 6:54 AM (in response to lenaic.ridinger)It happens just if you open the csv file directly on excel.
The problem is that users do it all the time and they'll blame Tableau even if were an excel issue.
Thanks for your time.
