Thanks for the replay.
my main doubts is in Tableau server can we refresh the .tde file then link the .tde file to the .twb file.
Can we refresh the .tde file alone?
If I refresh the .tde file periodically then when we open the report it will get the latest data or not?
Thanks in advance, I would be great help if you reply.
Thanks & Regards,
The two types of data files are .TDE and .TDS - both can be published and updated from the Tableau Server. A .TDE file is a Tableau Data Extract file that contains the pointer to the data and an extract of that data. A .TDS file is a Tableau Data Source file that only contains the pointer to the data. Both can be published to Tableau Server by themselves using the Tableau Desktop application or can also be published in a .TWBX file (packaged workbook) that contains a .TWB (Tableau Work Book) and a .TDE and/or .TDS. Additionally, .TDE and .TDS files that are published to the Tableau Server can be used to create brand new workbooks on the Tableau Server using the Web Authoring mode.
