Could you attach pacakged workbook?
Create a calculated field using the following syntax
Drag this onto the rows shelf, where it will become continuous, Change it to Discrete, and move it to the start of the table, It should then sort itself sequentially. then simply hide the field to return to the original view.
Hope this helps
Yes you can. Just create a combined field of all the 12-13 columns then drag it to row shelf at first place then sort it based on field (Overspent). Once done then hide the header of your combined field. Just follow the steps
e.g; I've consider superstore data
Create combined field
then drag it to row shelf
choose the order and the field.
Hide the header
you'll have this view
Let me know if you've any query.
I am using Sales as a metric which you can see is discrete in nature (color - blue)
Once you click on the sort icons highlighted above it will automatically sort the things for you by Sum(Sales). Once I click on any of those icons at the top it automatically set the sorting for the subcategory which will appear like
If you again click on ascending button its will change the subcategory setting to the following
Let me know if you have still any query on this one.
Thanks and Regards,
i have combined all the 13 columns as below
[Function Or Vertical]+[Object Manager]+[Quarter]+[Fsc Description]+[Fsc Owner]+str([Closed Po])+str([Open Po])+str([Open Requisition])+str([Sourcing])+str([[Closed Po]t])+str([Total])+str([Spent in %]),
where as [Closed Po],open Po and few other columns are measures, but still i am not getting values in descending order.
i have tried with the calculation you have given but still the values are not getting sorted
Try Clearing the sorts that already exist on the columns.
It may be having a conflict.
