To jump from one dashboard to another you simply need to change the dashboard action destination in the "target sheet" of the action option. See below:
For that you need to previously have created another dashboard containing the worksheet you'd like to be filtered.
You can then chose what worksheet (and what selected field) you want to filter in the other dashboard.
Thanks a lot! That worked out. There is no "Back" option to come back to dashboard 1 if I clicked on dashboard 2 through a link.
A story ain't a solution since the dashboard activities don't work in a story if I got it right.
Is it possbile to do a navigation through buttons on dashboard? I'm talking about having on each Dashboard Buttons like "D1", "D2", "D3" which bring me to exact that Dashboard?
@PHILIPP PESSIN -Yes you can do the same using Actions mentioned above. On the 2nd Dashboard use an additional Sheet with text or Shape (like a back arrow) . Now add a Action Filter on Dashboard2 stating your Dashboard2 as Source and 1 as target .
Also make sure you have "Show Sheets as tabs " enabled when publishing to Server Dialog box appears. So that these actions actually work.
Working on Tableau Desktop without Servers. Do I need to enable such option there aswell? Did not find it so far.
If you want to create a table of content you can read this article of Tableau that explains different techniques:
To do "navigation through buttons on dashboard / having on each Dashboard Buttons like "D1", "D2", "D3" which bring to the exact Dashboard" you can reiterate the process I explained with the custom shape.
2- Create a calculate field for the labeling "dashboard 1":
3- Place it on the label mark in the mark card.
4- Create then a new worksheet and reiterate the process for dashboard 2, 3, etc.
5- Integrate the separate worksheets in a vertical tile in the dashboard
6- Create specific actions for each of them following the process explained originally to jump from one dashboard to another one.
You should get there!
Hope it helps
