    Problem with REST API call for Add User to Group

    Paul Hardman

      Hi, I am having a problem with a REST API call.  I'm getting a 405000 Method Not Allowed error with the following cURL command:

      curl -X POST -H "X-Tableau-Auth: my-server-admin-auth-code-removed" -d '<tsRequest> <user id="user-id-removed-67e2f310198d" /> </tsRequest>' "http://server-name-removed/api/2.1/sites/site-id-removed-5b515f5e5188/groups/group-id-removed-1e953c9560b4/users"

      The XML response is:

      <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
      <tsResponse>
          <error code="405000">
              <summary>Method Not Allowed</summary>
              <detail>The HTTP method 'POST' is not supported for the given resource</detail>
          </error>
      </tsResponse>

      But the documentation at https://onlinehelp.tableau.com/current/api/rest_api/en-us/help.htm#REST/rest_api_ref.htm#Add_User_to_Group says that POST is the right method... Where am I going wrong? Server is v9.2 and I'm logged into the REST API, able to pull lists of groups, users etc.

      Thanks

      Paul
